Lund Washington (1737-1796) was a distant cousin of George Washington. He was born at Chotank, Virginia (then Stafford County, now King George County), the son of Townshend and Elizabeth Lund Washington. During the years of the Revolution, Lund lived at and managed Mount Vernon. His letters to the General convey much information about the running of the estate during the war.
